Our History
1949
Since 1949, the Crête family has been active in the wood industry. In 1996, Gestion S. Crête inc. acquired the assets of Rabotage Guérette inc. Three years later, the company was completely devastated by a fire.
1999
In 1999, Maxi-Forêt, a division of Gestion S. Crête inc., was founded. The company acquired a 110,000-square-foot facility on a 2,700,000-square-foot site and began operations in Saint-Jérôme. In 2013, Maxi Forêt opened a branch in Trois-Rivières to better serve Central and Eastern Québec.
2004
In 2024, a positive turning point began for Maxi Forêt with its acquisition by new owners: Peinture Éric, Peinture HMG, and Peintalux. This change in leadership opened promising new opportunities for the company, strengthening its market position and ensuring sustained growth for years to come.
